Fly fishing on Esthwaite Water

About Esthwaite Water

Esthwaite Water is a beautiful 280-acre private water situated in the heart of the English Lake District with excellent facilities for boat or bank fishing.
A natural lake, located in a glacial valley between Lake Windermere and Coniston Water with the village of Hawkshead at its northern tip and to the south is Grizedale Forest.

The lake is home to Fishing at Esthwaite Water, offering some of the best Trout, Pike, and Coarse fishing in the UK.  Anglers can fish from boat or bank, with year-round coarse fishing, spring and summer trout fishing, and autumn and winter pike fishing.

Beyond fishing, visitors can experience our popular Osprey Safari — a self-drive or guided electric boat tour where you can spot wild ospreys and other Lake District wildlife.

When it’s time to unwind, visit the Boathouse Café, an award-winning lakeside café serving homemade food, coffee, and cakes with stunning views across the water.

Whether you come to fish, explore, or simply enjoy the peace and scenery, Esthwaite Water is one of the Lake District’s most special destinations — a place where nature, adventure, and relaxation meet.
